Sahara

I love this assignment. I really do. Especially when I get to see movies like this.

There aren't enough words to describe the awesomeness of 'Sahara'. It's amazing. The plot is complicated, but in the end, it all makes sense.

Dr. Eva Rojas, played by Penelope Cruz, is a doctor with the World Health Organization (the W.H.O.). She is stationed in Africa, where there is a strange disease that could potentially become an epidemic. She needs to get to Mali -- all 6 cases she's seen seem to have come from there. When she goes to investigate one of the cases, she is attacked by people who seem to not want her to find out about the disease. She is rescued by Dirk, who is played by the fantastic Matthew Mcconaghey. Dirk is a former member of the Navy who does sea exploration. He's basically a treasure hunter...exploring ancient shipwrecks and whatnot. He, also, needs to get to Mali to find a treasure that only he believes exists.

Together, their seemingly different adventures turn into a combined effort to save not only the residents of war-torn Mali, but every citizen in the world.

I really liked this movie. It reminded me a lot of Indiana Jones. The adventure scenes are highly intense and Matthew Mcconaughey is serious eye candy. Matthew under the hot sun = DELICIOUS.

4 and a half stars. I didn't like that Eva's partner was killed off so soon...
